Why this room, why now

Everyone wants it faster.
Almost nobody talks to each other.

Fast and super-fast charging is one of the most active frontiers in the battery field - and one of the most fragmented. EVs, stationary storage and portable electronics pull in different directions, while academia and industry advance in isolation. This one-day forum puts them under one roof at Bar-Ilan University, around two connected themes.

SESSION I

New Battery Materials & Electrochemistry

Electrodes, electrochemistry and degradation under high charging currents - the materials that make super-fast charging physically possible.

SESSION II

Charging Methods & Industry

Pulsed and non-conventional protocols, thermal management and the physics of ultra-fast charge transfer - from the lab bench to the production line.

Eight talks, one question

How far can charging speed be pushed before physics, materials or heat say no - and what already works outside the lab.
